“Queen Victoria”, a 1973 Triumph TR6, came to my ownership after a longtime MVT member, Greg Lerue, passed away in January 2024. To help her get the car ready for sale the club took in the TR6 and began the process to install an interior and reassemble the engine bay amongst other items. While assisting the reassembly process, I was taken with the color and wheels. After some discussion with Valerie, I became the owner in July of 2024. Since then I have battled the 32/36 Weber downdraft carbs, exhaust system, and numerous leaks. The first year of ownership saw “Queen Victoria” sitting most of the time due to the carb issues, but since late May 2025 she has seen numerous car shows, and a successful trip to the 2025 Vintage Triumph Register event in LaCrosse, Wisconsin with only a few random failures that didn’t require trailering her home! Future upgrades/fixes include a new exhaust system, fuel injection (!!!), and rebuilds of the transmission/engine due to numerous leaks.
